Founder and CPA
Katie is a Certified Public Accountant whose passion is educating her clients through advisory and tax planning services. She has a heart for small businesses and enjoys coaching small business owners on all of the important things that aren’t taught in school!
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son and traveling. An avid equestrian, Katie also enjoys show jumping in her spare time.

Liza Ortiz
Tax Manager, EA
As a licensed Enrolled Agent with over 10 years of experience in the public sector, Liza specializes in expatriate returns. Her expertise encompasses many aspects of tax and accounting services including individual, partnership, and corporate taxation. Liza has extensive experience dealing with IRS and state taxing agencies.
When she isn’t working, Liza enjoys travel, cooking, fine cuisine, and working out. And, occasionally, you’ll find her getting a chuckle out of her favorite film, Undercover Nerd.

Laura Webb
Accounting Services Manager, EA
Prior to joining Lomness CPA, Laura worked in the public and non-profit sector. In her current role, Laura handles bookkeeping and financial statements for our small business clients. She is also well experienced in all aspects of tax return preparation including individual & business returns, payroll tax returns, and sales tax returns.
An avid equestrian, Laura owns a horse named Walter. Together, this special duo competes in the Adult Amateur Jumper Divisions. She is also married with a dog and two cats to compete for attention with Walter!

Kathlynn and her husband have two energetic daughters, who are actively engaged in soccer and gymnastics. She cherishes family time and is passionate about exploring new and exciting activities with her loved ones. Ashley ensures that our clients’ questions are answered and that our team has the administrative support they need to stay focused on our clients.
Outside of the office, Ashley enjoys spending time with her nephews, singing on her church’s worship team, and competitive game nights with the family.

Tax Associate
Earl has been part of the Lomness team since 2019. He works on the preparation of tax returns for our clients. Along with tax preparation he also assists with tax planning and tax research. He plans on becoming an Enrolled Agent.
When he isn’t working, you’ll find Earl spending time with family, fishing in Lake Conroe or the Galveston Bay area, or attending sporting events like NFL Football games. An avid football fan, he also loves the tailgate festivities.

Susan joined the Lomness CPA team in January 2024 as the Receptionist. In this role, she is the first point of contact for clients and enjoys assisting with both client and firm needs. Her background is in sales, so she loves being able to meet new people every day.
Outside of work, Susan spends most of her time with her husband and two young sons. They keep her busy and on her toes! She also enjoys networking and building new relationships in her personal life just as much as she does at work.
